SUPERCAR NEWS is an independent editorial publication covering supercars, performance cars, modern classics and other significant cars. Our work combines motoring history, vehicle identification, buying research and practical ownership guidance without claiming a fixed publishing frequency.

Editorial policy

Articles must be newly written from independent, rights-cleared sources. Archived articles, photographs, scans, layouts and contributor identities are not material to copy or lightly rewrite. Historical topic records can guide fresh research, but they do not prove ownership or permission to reuse material.

Editorial judgements are made for reader value, accuracy and relevance. Common ownership, advertising, referral revenue, supplied products, access or hospitality must not determine a conclusion or suppress material criticism. Factual claims need evidence appropriate to their consequence; uncertainty, conflicting evidence and limits remain visible. Practical guides distinguish observation from diagnosis and do not turn a symptom into a product recommendation.

Material changes require editorial review. Work that no longer meets our evidence, rights, safety or freshness standards is corrected, unlinked or withdrawn rather than left published for traffic.

Sources and corrections

Sources should be authoritative, relevant to the exact market and variant under discussion, and sufficiently current for the claim. Manufacturer records, official registers, technical literature, period documents, reputable reporting and qualified specialists may all be appropriate. Source limits and conflicts are stated rather than concealed. Rights to text, images or other assets are assessed separately from factual usefulness.

Material errors are corrected promptly and visibly. A correction affecting meaning states what changed, when it changed and the evidence used; minor spelling or formatting fixes need not create a public note. Disputes are assessed against source records, not popularity or commercial preference.

A monitored public contact channel for corrections, evidence, privacy requests, rights notices and general editorial correspondence is being established. No email address or contact form is published until that channel has an accountable owner and response process.

Commercial disclosure

SUPERCAR NEWS and CarParts.com.au are under common ownership. That relationship does not guarantee favourable coverage, make a product relevant or prove suitability. Editorial conclusions remain under the publication’s control.

Commerce is currently disabled. No page covered by these standards contains an enabled product, affiliate or referral link. Before any future commercial hand-off can appear, the page must disclose the ownership relationship and possible financial benefit, mark the link `sponsored`, confirm current inventory and exact-vehicle relevance, and keep the commercial path separate from the editorial conclusion. Missing, stale or conflicting evidence means no link is shown.

Supplied parts, workshop access, travel, hospitality or other material support must be disclosed near the affected work, naming the support and provider, whether it was retained or returned, and who controlled the editorial work. Undisclosed support prevents publication.

Privacy

SUPERCAR NEWS provides static editorial pages. We do not provide contact, subscription, account, comment, upload or checkout forms and do not collect reader-submitted information. No advertising trackers, audience measurement scripts, email capture tools, cookies or cross-domain identifiers are enabled.

If any reader-information feature or third-party request is proposed, it requires prior review and a public notice identifying what is collected, why, who controls and receives it, retention, and the processes for access, correction and deletion. Nothing in these standards authorises collection.

Terms and mechanical safety

The site provides general editorial information, not a roadworthy certificate, valuation, legal advice, diagnosis or instructions tailored to the vehicle in front of a reader. Vehicle identity, specifications, service information, laws and product availability can change. Readers must use current manufacturer information and qualified professional advice appropriate to the work and jurisdiction.

No page authorises work beneath an unsupported vehicle, opening a hot cooling system, touching high-voltage components or undertaking safety-critical brake, steering, suspension, restraint, fuel or lifting work without suitable competence, information and equipment. If a vehicle may be unsafe, it should not be driven merely to complete a checklist or test. Safety-critical procedures require specific commissioning and appropriately qualified review.

Copyright and rights

Unless a licence says otherwise, original SUPERCAR NEWS text is subject to the publisher’s copyright and is not cleared for republication. Archived copy, imagery, logos, video, scans, layouts and third-party trademarks are not automatically available for reuse. Every third-party asset, quotation and contribution requires a rights record covering source, owner, permission or licence, permitted uses, attribution, territory, term and withdrawal conditions.

Contributors must warrant that submitted work is original or properly licensed and disclose prior publication and embedded third-party material. An online copy or historical association is not evidence of permission.

Author and reviewer standards

Published articles identify their accountable author and maintain an editorial record of relevant experience, material conflicts and corrections. Mechanical pages also require an appropriately qualified named technical reviewer, review scope, last-reviewed date, source record, correction history and clear owner/professional boundaries before they are eligible for indexing.

Authors remain responsible for reporting and source notes. Technical reviewers are responsible for claims within their recorded review scope; review does not transfer responsibility away from the editor. The accountable editor resolves conflicts, verifies required changes and withdraws work when evidence, freshness, safety or rights requirements are not met.
