The Aspark story

Aspark’s Owl programme is part of the newer electric hypercar landscape. The main road-car family and Roadster are distinct from the SP600 development prototype, which has been used to pursue a more specialised performance objective. Those different configurations should not be collapsed into one set of specifications simply because they share the Owl name.

For a small programme, the movement from a reveal to an operational car matters as much as the initial promise. We find it more useful to explain the purpose of each branch and the conditions behind a performance claim than to fill the page with comparisons that the available evidence cannot support.

Performance and specialist model families are listed below. Programme status describes the manufacturer’s published range or announcement, rather than stock or an available allocation. Open-top and special derivatives are grouped where they share a family; follow the model link for the distinctions.

Past models

Past performance-car families relevant to our 1996–2026 archive. A surviving product page or conversion catalogue does not mean the original donor car remains in production.

This is a young programme without a separate completed road-model generation in our thirty-year archive. The current family and its development history are the starting point.

The SuperCarNews view

Aspark's Owl is immediately distinctive for its exceptionally low visual profile. The current family includes the Owl Roadster, while the SP600 speed-development car is identified separately. Prototype test results should not be copied into the road car's specification without confirming that the configuration is the same.

The body creates a powerful photographic impression, but extreme proportions also invite practical questions. Seat position, entry, visibility and the placement of the battery are part of the engineering story. We would rather investigate those choices than assume that looking lower automatically means functioning better.

The Roadster makes the relationship between the cabin and body even more visible. Its existence broadens the programme beyond a single acceleration claim. The more useful comparison is how the open version changes the intended experience, including what the occupants can see and how they are protected from airflow.

Aspark's published acceleration material uses specific testing conventions, including rollout in some claims. That convention matters when comparing numbers. A result measured after an initial movement is not directly equivalent to one timed from a complete standing start.
