The latest development
Bugatti has shared how it developed the Tourbillon’s V16 soundtrack. In a manufacturer update published on 3 September 2026, its engineers describe work on the intake and exhaust, alongside cabin refinement and noise testing. The aim was to give the new powertrain a recognisable character while keeping the car comfortable in everyday use.
Bugatti says the sound reaching the occupants comes from the mechanical powertrain, without artificial engine noise played through speakers. Its team used simulations and vehicle testing to balance the two sides of that brief.
What the update confirms
The company reports completing the main acoustic development programme and its noise homologation tests, with smaller refinements continuing. That is a specific development milestone; it does not, on its own, establish full vehicle type approval or confirm customer deliveries.
Why it matters
